The importance of routine preventative maintenance
The importance of routine preventative maintenance lies in its ability to keep lifts running dependably and safely day after day. By scheduling regular check-ups, UE Lifts LTD helps to spot small issues before they can become costly or disruptive problems. Detailed records of each service make it easier to track the condition of your equipment and ensure compliance with all necessary standards. This careful, consistent approach not only supports smoother operations but also helps to extend the lifespan of your lift, giving building owners and users alike greater peace of mind.
All commercial and public lifts must be listed on a council compliance schedule, and must always have a valid maintenance contract in place at all times. Each year, the lifts must undergo a thorough 12A inspection, which forms an important part of the building’s warrant of fitness (BWOF) for the premises.
Most lift companies provide a standard maintenance schedule template for most types of lift installation. At UE Lifts, we can customise a maintenance plan to match almost any lift, in any environment. Whether you need call out only for residential lifts or prefer regular, in-depth monthly checks for busy commercial lifts, we create a schedule that fits your lift’s specific daily demands.
Below are several examples of our standard lift templates. Each one can be tailored further to match your specific lift requirements and needs.
Call out only:
This option is perfect for private residential lifts in homes that are not used very often and do not run all through the year. If you need to arrange a routine service, or if you ever notice your lift making unusual noises or acting differently, just call us. Our team is available around the clock, 24 hours a day, to respond to emergencies and help keep your lift safe.
There are no monthly fees or ongoing costs, but please note that slightly higher call out rates apply if you are not on a maintenance contract.
A lift service usually includes but not limited to the following checks and tests:
Guides and rollers are carefully inspected, thoroughly cleaned, and relubricated when needed to keep them running smoothly. All moving parts are also checked, adjusted, and lubricated when needed. Drive units are put through proper testing, and the hydraulic cylinders, hoses power packs and oil is examined to confirm its condition. All electrical components are checked and tested, and emergency and safety systems are tested for correct function. General housekeeping is carried out so everything stays clean and tidy. Annual:
This is a reliable solution for more medium use residential lifts. Every year, our experienced team will reach out to organise your scheduled service appointments. You can select a convenient monthly payment plan, which covers 24-hour lift monitoring and emergency call outs, or choose an annual payment option that excludes 24-hour monitoring and includes separate call out fees . This flexibility helps ensure peace of mind and continued smooth operation.
Bi-annual:
This routine schedule is essential for low-use commercial and publicly accessed lifts, and also works very well for high-use private residential lifts. Enjoy greater reassurance with comprehensive, 24-hour monitoring included, giving you consistent safety and reliable performance at all times.
